Personalized and individualized attention throughout pre-conception, pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum...as well as well-woman care, well-baby care, and breastfeeding support.



To determine whether the midwife, the mother, and her partner are suited to work together.

To discuss how mom defines the midwife’s role in pregnancy, labor, and birth.

To discuss the midwife’s training, background, philosophy, and style of practice, including her professional disclosures and consent to care, as well as her expectations and limitations.

To obtain a thorough medical history including lifestyle and personal, as well as obstetrical and gynecological.

To discuss recommendations regarding nutrition, prenatal exercise, yoga, meditation, support groups, classes, reading lists for books, magazines, internet, and newsletters, referrals to local LLL groups, and referrals to local non-allopathic care providers like chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, etc.



Once Monthly Until 28 to 32 Weeks

Every Other Week Until 36 Weeks

Weekly Until Birth, Including One Home Visit



For Circumstances Requiring Immediate Attention

Including pap smear and cultures, breast exams, labs, nutrition, fertility awareness, family planning, preconception planning, and pregnancy testing.
